(Otonabee South Monaghan Twp. ON) – On Sunday 21, 2014, at approximately 11:28 a.m. officers from the Peterborough County OPP had occasion to investigate a single motor vehicle collision on Base Line Road at Hiawatha Line.
Officers attending the scene located a 2007 Volkswagen, in a ditch where it failed to negotiate a turn from Base Line Road to Hiawatha Line. Several people where in the vehicle at the time of the collision. A 48 year old female was identified as the driver of the vehicle. An investigation was conducted and it was revealed that the vehicle had been recently reported stolen from the City of Peterborough.
As a result of the investigation, 48 year old Sylvia McVICKER of Peterborough was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
1. Impaired Operation of a Motor vehicle
2. Possession of Property obtained by Crime over $5000
3. Wilful Non Compliance with Probation
As a result of the investigation McVICKER was arrested and charged with Having Over 80mgs of Alcohol in his Blood.
McVICKER was held in custody for a bail hearing, and is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Courts on September 22, 2014.
