OPP CHARGE YOUTH WITH BREACH OF PROBATION

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – On Friday September 12, 2014 at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was investigating a threatening complaint. The accused drove to the Almaguin Highlands OPP where he was arrested and charged with uttering threats. A second officer went to talk to the passengers in the accused vehicle to advise them of the delay. The officer recognized the passengers and that one of the youths were on probation conditions not to communicate with the other youth. OPP arrested the passenger and charged him with fail to comply with disposition, contrary to the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) and Obstruct Peace Officer, contrary to the Criminal Code. The youth cannot be named, under the YCJA.

Both accused were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound, Ontario on Monday September 15, 2014
