During the week of September 4, 2018, to September 9, 2018 there were 68 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were three motor vehicle collisions, two were animal related.
There were four domestic dispute calls for service, and two domestic disputes resulting in criminal code charges.
Domestic Threats and Assault Charges
On Thursday September 6, 2018 at approximately 3:59 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Steve Regan and Constable Kyle Fabian responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 67 yr. old male from Madawaska Valley Twp. was arrested and charged with Utter Threats and Assault, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday October 17, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Domestic Assault, Overcome Resistance, and Mischief Charges
On Saturday September 8, 2018 at approximately 9:04 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Julie McPeak and Constable Kyle Fabian responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 37 yr. old male from Madawaska Valley Twp. was arrested and charged with Assault, Overcome Resistance, and Mischief contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Fraud
On Thursday September 6, 2018 at approximately 10:35 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Kyle Fabian responded to a fraud on Birch Crescent, South Algonquin Twp. The complainant reported a computer fraud which involved allowing a person claiming to be from Microsoft remote access to the complainant s computer. The bank account was then compromised and the complainant defrauded $3000. Police remind community members to never give out personal access to information to a source you have not confirmed. Always check the source and request further information. Don’t be a victim.
Mischief
On Tuesday September 4, 2018 at approximately 10:02 am, Killaloe OPP received a mischief to property call on John Street, Bonnechere Valley Twp. The side of the Canada Post Office building had been spray-painted with the initials, RGK” in black paint. This incident remains under investigation.
