Guard Rail Destroyed By Truck

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Friday September 30, 2011 shortly after 1 p.m. Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a collision along Perth Road 131 north of Milverton.

Investigation revealed that an International flat bed truck was driving north bound along Perth Road 131 north of Perth Line 72, when it left the roadway and veered onto the east side gravel shoulder. It struck a metal guard rail and continued north bound on top of the guardrail. The truck finally came to a stop on top of the guard rail but not before approximately 25 meters of the rail was damaged by having the wooden post snapped off at ground level. The truck sustained damage to its undercarriage and passenger side fender. A tow truck was able to remove the truck from the guard rail.

The 31 year old male truck driver from the Township of Perth South was charged with careless driving.
