On September 30, 2014 at 9:47 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a residence located 1541 Gordon Street South to look for a male on an unrelated police matter. While at the residence a police officer discovered a 61-year-old female resident deceased inside. The male that the police had been looking for was located and arrested for the unrelated matter at another location. The investigation is in the preliminary stages, no suspect has been arrested in relation to this investigation. The male that the police have in custody cannot be ruled out as a person of interest.
The Guelph Police have frontloaded this investigation utilizing a number of internal resources, however at this time will not release the cause of death to protect the integrity of the investigation and will continue to provide updates as they become available.
