Mahmoud RAZAVIGHASABEH – 108 in an 80, Controlled Substance

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A recent traffic stop for speeding on Huron Road has resulted in the driver facing charges of Possession of Marihuana and Speeding. On September 25, 2014 at 4:12 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a black Mazda Tribute speeding eastbound on Huron Road near Holmesville. The officer confirmed the speed of the motor vehicle with a RADAR instrument and determined the vehicle was travelling at 108 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped by police and upon speaking with the male driver police detected the odour of marihuana coming from inside the vehicle. Further investigation led police to the seizure of a small quantity of marihuana that was in the possession of the driver.

The driver, 47 year old Mahmoud RAZAVIGHASABEH from North York was arrested and searched at the scene. He was charged with Speeding and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marihuana contrary to Section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He has a scheduled court appearance set for November 10, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
