Timothy SUMMERS – Impaired Driving Cause Death

(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) -On August 31, 2014 at approximately 3:28 a.m. Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation Police, Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police responded to a fatal collision on Fairgrounds Road south of Oneida Road.

Police have learned that a sport utility vehicle (SUV) carrying three adult males was travelling along Fairgrounds Road when it left the roadway and rolled. The driver was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. One passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital and a second passenger, 59 year old Carl DOXTATOR of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation was declared deceased at the scene.

Fairgrounds Road was closed as the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) Team conducted their investigation.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged the driver, Timothy SUMMERS, age 47 of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation with:

one count of Impaired Driving

one count of Impaired Driving Cause Bodily Harm

one count of Impaired Driving Cause Death

The accused has since been released and is scheduled to appear in a London courtroom October 9, 2014 to speak to the charges.
