(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Police have charged a male following an assault on Walker Road on Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.
On September 30, 2014 at approximately 1:43 a.m. Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation Police, Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin County OPP and Munsee Delaware Police Service responded to a possible stabbing at a residence on Walker Road involving two adult males.
The Middlesex OPP Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Service (FIS) attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
Police have learned that earlier in the evening, the suspect and victim were in a residence when the victim was stabbed by the suspect. An altercation ensued and the victim left the area in search for help.
When police arrived, they discovered the male victim with apparent stab wounds. He was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released. The male suspect was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, police have charged an adult male of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation with one count of Assault with a Weapon.
