(KENORA, ON) The search for 61 year old Brian HURST, who was reported missing from Winnipeg on September 27, 2014, has reached a tragic conclusion. HURST was last seen leaving his residence in Winnipeg on September 27, 2014 and was believed to be travelling to the Kenora area at that time.
The combined efforts of Mr. HURST’S family, the media, the community, the police and other agencies led to the location of HURST’S 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sport On Tuesday October 7, 2014 shortly before 8:00 pm. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified that some hunters had located the vehicle on a trail in the Gordon Lake Rd area. The vehicle was locked and undamaged.
Members of the OPP Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), with assistance from OPP Aviation Services began a search of the area and on Wednesday October 8, 2014 at around 4:00 pm the body of Mr. HURST was located on the shoreline of an unnamed lake, in the vicinity of his vehicle. Foul play is not suspected.
A post mortem examination is scheduled for October 9, 2014.
