Collision investigation

On October 11, 2014 at 5:50 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a collision on Gordon Street and Maltby Road. It is alleged that a white Dodge travelling eastbound on Maltby Road struck a black Buick travelling southbound on Gordon Street causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

Both occupants of the Buick, a 77-year-old male driver and a 74-year-old female passenger were transported to Guelph General Hospital. The passenger remained in hospital with significant but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Dodge was also transported to Guelph General Hospital with minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the driver of the Dodge, a 24-year-old female from Freelton, was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
