(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in a small quantity of marijuana being seized and the driver being charged.
On October 12, 2014 an OPP officer was on patrol on Kawartha Lakes Road 121 near Union Creek Road when a vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and during the investigation the officer determined that marijuana was present in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation the driver, Brigida DACAMARA, 41 years of age, of Seguin, was charged with possession of marijuana, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and with speeding.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on November 20, 2014.
