(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On October 13, 2014 Quinte West OPP were conducting R.I.D.E. checks on Dundas St near Ontario St in Trenton. At approximately 1:00am officers noticed a car that attempted to avoid the R.I.D.E check. Officers followed and stopped the vehicle a short distance away.
While speaking to the driver of the motor vehicle, the officer noted a strong odour of marijuana coming from the vehicle and also observed paraphernalia for smoking marihuana.
As a result of the stop, a 22 year old male from Trenton has been charged with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (marihuana) over 30 grams. He was released at the scene with a court date in November.
