Fail To Remain Traffic Accident

Date: Tuesday, October 14, 2014 – 11:45pm
On the 14th of October 2014, at approximately 11:45pm, Barrie Police were called to the area of Grove Street and Bothwell Crescent in regards to a cyclist struck by a motor vehicle. When police arrived on scene they observed a male whom had suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle while operating a bicycle.

The male victim was immediately transported to hospital where he remains and is being treated for the injuries. Police were unable to identify the driver of the vehicle as witnesses indicated the vehicle and its driver fled the scene after striking the cyclist.

Witnesses are only able to describe the vehicle as a dark sedan that will have front end damage. Police have been able to obtain video footage from the area and are hopeful the footage will be able to identify the vehicle.

The investigation is currently on-going and is being conducted by the Barrie Police Traffic Unit. Anyone with information pertaining to this accident are urged to please contact Sgt. Glen Furlong of the Barrie Police Traffic Unit at extension 2911 or crime stoppers.
