(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) – On Wednesday October 15, 2014 around 5:30 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to the intersection of Huron Rd. (Hwy 8) and Avonton Road (Perth Road 130) in Sebringville, in response to a collision.
Officers determined that a tractor trailer was travelling north bound on Avonton Road crossing Huron Road when the driver’s side rear corner of the flat-bed trailer was struck by an east bound Pontiac SUV within the stop light controlled intersection.
The 66 year old male driver of the tractor trailer a resident of the Municipality of West Perth was uninjured as a result of the crash. The 46 year old female driver of the Pontiac, a Township of Perth East resident sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. She has been charged with “fail to yield to trafficâ€Â, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
The intersection was closed for approximately half an hour allowing for the vehicles and debris to be removed.
