(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – On Wednesday October 15, 2014, shortly before 7 p.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting patrols along Highway 23 south of Mitchell when a fast moving vehicle was observed.
A Hyundai sedan was observed travelling north bound at an extremely high rate of speed. The officer activated the police radar and locked the Hyundai in at a speed of 148 km/h. This is 68 km/h above the posted 80 km/h zone. The vehicle was pulled over and the 29 year old male, a London resident was issued a summons for “race a motor vehicleâ€Â. The male is to appear at Stratford Court on November 25, 2014 to answer to this charge. His driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle has been impounded for a week.
