(TEMAGAMI, ON) Shortly before 6:00 a.m. on October 17, 2014, members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 Askin Township involving a tractor trailer and a Pontiac Sunfire.
The single occupant of the tractor trailer sustained no injuries and the single occupant of the Pontiac Sunfire has been confirmed deceased at the scene. No names are being released at this time, pending next of kin notifications.
Temagami Ambulance, Temagami Fire Department and Marten River Fire Department attended the scene.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with this ongoing investigation.
Highway 11 has been closed in both directions as the investigation into the collision continues. The estimated duration of road advisory is unavailable at this time.
