Barrie Police Service received a call for a disturbance with an intoxicated male at a pub in central Barrie. As police were responding, the male left in his vehicle. Officer located the car at a nearby address associated to the suspect. The 48 year old Orillia man was still seated in the car. As officers approached the vehicle, the accused fled. A short foot chase ensued and the accused was arrested for Impaired Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle. The accused was transported to the station where he refused to provide a breath sample. The accused was later released with a court date for the offence of refusing to provide a breath sample. The accused licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
