On the 23rd day of October 2014, the Barrie Police “Investigative Services†conducted an investigation pertaing to numerous domestic related assaults on two children
The victims in this case were a 13yr old boy and an 11yr old girl.
As a result of evidence gathered, an arrest warrant was obtained for the 37yr old male suspect.
During the early morning hours of the 24th day of October 2014, the arrest warrant was executed at an East end address.
Officers utilized the services of the “TSU†Tactical Support Unit due to the lengthy violent criminal history of the suspect.
One of the “TSU†officers was injured while executing the warrant. This officer was bitten by a large “Rottweiler†dog which resided at the residence.
The officer was treated and released for his medical injuries.
The suspect was arrested without incidence and transported to the Barrie Police station where he was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The suspect was charged with 6 counts of assault and 2 counts of uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
The suspect is the boyfriend of the two victims mother.
