On October 23, 2014, an unknown man attended a residence on Regency Drive in Chatham. The man identified himself to the homeowner as an employee of a roofing company. The man asked if he could enter the home to use the washroom. The homeowner allowed him entrance. When the man left, the homeowner noticed that medication was missing.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind citizens to always ask for identification before letting anyone posing as a repairman into their home. Those working for a reputable company will have identification, so demand to see. If the stranger is insistent, refuses to leave, or behaves in a suspicious manner, call police immediately.
