(TOWN OF FERGUS, ON) – On October 25, 2014 just after midnight, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a driving complaint from a concerned citizen involving a 1998 Ford pick-up truck driving erratically in the Town of Fergus.
Officers patrolled the area and located the vehicle a short time later on St. George Street at Gartshore Street in the Town of Fergus. The vehicle was still running and stopped in the live lane of traffic. The male, seated in the driver’s seat was unresponsive to police. Officers observed several beer cans and other part bottles of alcohol within reach of the driver as well as a rifle in the back seat that was improperly stored and secured.
Police spoke with the driver and determined that he had been drinking and he was placed under arrest. Further investigation revealed that male was wanted on outstanding warrants by Wellington County as well as another Police Service out of province.
