(KAPUSKASING, ON.) – Shortly before 8:00 am on October 25, 2014, members of the Kapuskasing Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to several mischief events in the south west business portion of Kapuskasing, Ontario.
The investigation revealed that numerous black and red markings and sketches had been spray painted overnight on buildings and vehicles at various locations including the Royal Canadian Legion located on Government Rd. and businesses along the south part of Riverside Drive.
As a result of a thorough and comprehensive OPP investigation, 23 year old female Sharon KNAPAYSWEET of Kapuskasing, Ontario has been charged with 5 counts of Mischief Under $ 5,000, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. A 15 year old female from Kapuskasing, who cannot be named as a result of being a young person, has also been charged with 6 counts of Mischief Under $ 5,000 and one count of Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
Both accused females were held in police custody and attended a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane where they were later released. The young female is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on November 17, 2014 and Sharon KNAPAYSWEET is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on the November 24, 2014.
