R.I.D.E. LEADS TO ARREST

(CALEDON, ON) – On October 31st, 2014 officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reducing Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check program at the intersection of King Street and Queen Street in the Village of Bolton. At 2:34 am, officers observed a white commercial vehicle entering the intersection and observed the passenger throw an object out of the window. When the officers spoke with the occupants, they detected a strong odour of drugs, believed to be marihuana, emanating from inside the vehicle. The officers recovered the thrown object and confirmed that it was a joint of marihuana.

An investigation into the passenger revealed that he was bound by a Recognizance Order with conditions. The passenger was breaching three of the imposed conditions.

As a result, Michael KRUPITSKY, 29, from Thornhill was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Breach of Recognizance and 1 count of Possession of a Schedule II substance.

The accused was held in custody and appeared the following morning at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.
