MARIHUANA SEIZED AT VEHICLE STOP

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in a small quantity of marihuana being seized and the driver being charged.

On November 4, 2014 an OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling at 111km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 35 near Tower Road and subsequently stopped the vehicle. During the investigation the officer determined that marihuana was present in the vehicle and 19.2 grams was located and seized.

As a result of the investigation Kelly ROBINSON, 36 years of age, of Whitby, was charged with speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and with possession of marihuana, under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on December 11, 2014.
