On October 17, 2014, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Park Avenue West in Chatham. At this time, a woman reported that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend during an argument. The man fled the home prior to police arrival. Attempts were made to locate the man, however when unsuccessful, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
This morning, the 27-year-old Chatham man turned himself in to police headquarters. He has been charged with assault and overcome resistance to commit the offence of choking. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
