(PLYMPTON WYOMING, ON) – On November 6, 2013 around 2:00 a.m., Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program on London Line and Mandaumin Road.
A GMC vehicle approached the OPP officers at the R.I.D.E. program however the male driver did not enter and stop at the program but rather avoided the OPP officers and traveled north on Mandaumin Road. The vehicle subsequently rolled into a ditch and caught on fire on Michigan Line at Mandaumin Road however the driver was not trapped and he managed to get out of the vehicle.
Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and firefighters attended the collision scene however no injuries are being reported at this time.
As the OPP traffic investigation continued, the male driver was arrested and subsequent breath tests indicated that 20 year old Dylon TYGESEN, of Strathroy-Caradoc Township, ON was over the legal limit. He will appear in a Sarnia court on December 1, 2014 to answer to the charges of driving while impaired and driving while being over the legal limit under the Criminal Code of Canada.
