OPP INVESTIGATING COLLISION INVOLVING SCHOOL BUS

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a motor vehicle collision at a Highway 59, South Walsingham, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Thursday, November 6, 2014 at approximately 7:48 a.m., Norfolk County OPP, Norfolk County Fire Services and Norfolk County Paramedics were dispatched to a Highway 59 address for a motor vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck and school bus.

Through investigation it has been determined that school bus was travelling eastbound on 1st Concession Road and a black coloured pick-up truck was travelling northbound on Highway 59 when both vehicles collided at the intersection.

Both drivers of the vehicles and four passengers between the ages of 14 to 17 years that were on the bus received minor injuries and were subsequently transported by paramedics to local area hospitals for treatment.

Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.

Highway 59 between 2nd Concession Road and Lakeshore Road and 1st Concession Road between Bay Street and Hazen Road will be closed for approximately 4 hours to allow for police investigation.
