(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment has charged a 26 year old male with Theft after investigating a complaint at a John St., Dunnville, Haldimand County, ON address.
On Friday November 7th, 2014 at approximately 10:00 am Police attended the Dunnville War Memorial Hospital to investigate a theft complaint from the Hospital Gift Shop.
Investigation revealed that the suspect used distraction technics with the lone attendant to remove a quantity of cash from the cash box.
The incident was captured by video surveillance which revealed a description of the suspect.
At approximately 1:00 pm the suspect returned to the Hospital Gift Shop where he was recognized and Police were called.
Police re-attended the hospital and located the suspect still in the Gift Shop where he was arrested.
Charged with Theft under $5000 and 2 counts of Failing to comply with a Probation Order is 26 year old Nathaniel SMITH of Haldimand County, ON. He is to attend Provincial Court, Cayuga, ON at a later date to answer to the charge.
