Driver Without Required Ingition Interlock Device Charged

(ST.MARYS, ON) On Saturday afternoon July 07, 2012, a Perth County OPP officer stopped a vehicle on James St. South in St.Marys. The 46 year old male driver from London was found to have a condition on his driver’s license which required him to only operate vehicles with an installed ignition interlock device. The driver had been charged with impaired driving in 2011. The vehicle being operated by the driver was not equipped with an interlock system.

The driver was subsequently charged with “drive motor vehicle not equipped with an approved ignition interlock device”. He is to appear in Stratford Court on August 28, 2012 to answer to this charge. His vehicle was towed from the scene, and has been impounded for seven days.
