(GUELPH/ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – On Friday October 19, 2012 at approximately 3:00pm County of Wellington OPP officers were conducting RIDE spot checks on County Road 39 just south of County Road 30 in Guelph/Eramsoa Twp. At this time and location officers investigated the driver of a 1997 Chevrolet that came upon the checkpoint. During the investigation police located a small quantity of marihuana. Further investigation revealed that the driver was driving while under suspension.
Catherine Smith of Guelph has been charged with Possession of Marihuana Under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Driver While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on December 7, 2012 to answer to the charges.
