(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On Sunday October 28, 2012 at approximately 2:45am County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) officers received a 911 call from a residence located on Side Road 27, Town of Erin. The female caller advised that she had been stabbed by her husband and that he had set the house on fire. Town of Erin Firefighters responded as well as Guelph/Wellington EMS and Dufferin EMS.
Officers arrived on location and found the female on the roof of the residence which was filled with smoke. Police escorted her down from the roof and she was transported to Orangeville Hospital by ambulance and later transported to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. One male party exited the residence and was taken into police custody.
Members of the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit, West Region OPP Crime Unit and the West Region OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit are assisting in the investigation. Further details will be released as they become available.
