(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Friday December 07, 2012, at approximately 5:30 p.m. a motorist was driving his GMC Sierra pickup truck south bound on Road 140 struck a cow on the roadway. The driver did not see the animal on the road until the last minute, due to the heavy fog and mist that covered the area.
The cow died instantly and damage to the vehicle was extensive. The driver did not sustain injuries as a result of the collision.
The Perth County OPP wants to remind the motoring public to slow down in foggy conditions and to be especially observant for deer on our local roadways as this is the time of year when vehicle-deer collision numbers are the highest.
