(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Friday February 01, 2013 around the lunch hour, Perth County OPP officers in Listowel were kept busy with two collisions on Perth Line 86 east of Listowel.
Around 11:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to Perth Line 86, just west of Road 153 to investigate a two vehicle crash. A Hino truck owned by a leasing company was stopped behind a tractor trailer that was stopped in the east bound lane, waiting to make a left turn. An east bound Pontiac Sunfire struck the back of the Hino truck. The 53 year old male driver of the Sunfire, a Municipality of North Perth resident was transported to Listowel General Hospital with minor injuries. It was snowing and there was drifting snow at the time of the collsion. The 56 year old male driver from Cambridge who was operating the delivery truck did not sustain injuries as a result of the impact.
At 12:54 p.m., while officers were investigating the first crash, a similar collision took place just west of the initial crash. A Jeep Wrangler with two female occupants from Walkerton was stopped in the east bound lane of Perth Line 86 when they were struck from behind by a Dodge Ram pickup truck operated by a 56 year old male from Elmira.
Traffic was reduced to a single lane as both collisions were investigated and the involved vehicles were removed from the scene.
