(BLUEWATER, ON) – Failing to pull over when signalled by police has led to a criminal charge against a 22 year old male driver from Bluewater. Shortly after midnight on June 14, 2013 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers observed a black Volkswagen Jetta travelling westbound on Walnut Road at a high rate of speed. Officers activated their emergency lights and siren and attempted to pull the Jetta over at Airport Line. The driver continued driving erratically westbound on Walnut Road for approximately 1 kilometre before he pulled into a driveway on Bells Line. During the short chase he failed to stop for a stop sign.
Officers were able to stop the driver on Bells Line where they arrested the driver for Fail to Stop for Police. As a result, Stephen TROYER, 22, from Bluewater has been charged with Flight from Police and Disobey Stop Sign – Fail to Stop. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on July 18, 2013.
