(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) On Tuesday July 9, 2013, at approximately 1:00 pm, members of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting lidar and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 northbound just south of Clair Road in Puslinch Twp.
At this time and location Constable Sara Van Norman observed a northbound 2007 Toyota Corolla travelling well above the speed limit. Police clocked the vehicle on lidar at 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The driver’s licence has been suspended and vehicle seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
Khalid Ayoubi age 25 of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act as well as a number of other Provincial Offence Act charges. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on September 18, 2013 to answer to the charges.
