Duane WAINMAN – Drunk Driving

(PERRY TWP) On Saturday July 27, 2013 at approximately 2:45am officers from the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on the over pass of Fern Glen Road and Highway 11, Perry Township. A vehicle was seen by police traveling northbound on Highway 11 at a high rate of speed. Police followed the vehicle and eventually stopped it on Highway 11 at the Ontario Street exit to Burk’s Falls.
Police spoke with the driver and subsequently arrested him for exceeding eighty milligrams of alcohol in one hundred millilitres of blood. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of marihuana.

The driver, Duane WAINMAN (20) of Sundridge, Ontario is charged with exceeding eighty milligrams of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, Possession of Marihuana, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Speeding and Young Driver Blood Alcohol Content above Zero, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear in Sundridge Court on Tuesday August 13, 2013
