(CALEDON, ON) – On Wednesday, June 26, 2013 officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate an assault. Investigation revealed that on June 25th at 9:30 pm, during a recreational ball hockey game at the Caledon Community Complex, one of the players from the opposing team crosschecked another player at the end of the game. As a result of the assault, the victim was struck in the face, taken to the hospital, treated and released with minor injuries.
On July 30th, 2013, Justin Francis FIORINI, 22, of Caledon was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon.
The accused will make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on September 5, 2013.
