(Prince Edward County, ON) On July 31, 2013 at 10:17am an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police Prince Edward County detachment was on routine patrol on County Road 49 in the Ward of Sophiasburg when a motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. The motor vehicle was travelling 140Km/h in a posted 80 Km/h zone.
The driver, 28-year old Brent DAVIES of Sophiasburg was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Perform Stunt Speeding By 50Km/h or more Km/h contrary to Section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. The motor vehicle was impounded. The accused is to appear in Picton court on September 20, 2013.
