Shauna SUGANAQUEB – Drunk Driving, 2X Legal Limit

(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Monday, August 12 2013 at 4:55 pm, an officer from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol on Highway 61 north of Arthur Street when the officer observed an erratic driver.

The officer followed and then attempted to stop the vehicle by activating the lights and siren on the police vehicle. The driver continued driving north bound on Highway 61 and eventually pulled over on the Harbour Expressway. When the officer approached the driver’s side of the vehicle, he observed the driver talking on a cell phone.

While speaking with the driver, the officer observed the driver to be exhibiting obvious signs of impairment. Subsequently, the driver was found to be over twice the legal limit.

Shauna SUGANAQUEB, 29 years of age, from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code.

She was also issued offence notices for Drive Motor Vehicle – No licence, Fail to Have Insurance Card, and Drive with Hand Held Communication Device contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

She is to appear in Provincial Court on September 27 2013 to answer to the charges.
