On Saturday the 10th of August 2013 at approximately 3:40 p.m., a male attended the “Variete du Coin†convenience store located at 804 Lansdowne Street in the Town of Hawkesbury. The male walked up to the cashier and started to demand for money. The male wanted $300.00; he was refused and told to leave the store. The male then threatened to harm the cashier if he didn’t get the money.
The cashier alerted another worker who spoke with the male, the other cashier then called police. The male motioned that he would use a weapon if he didn’t get the money. The worker refused again and the male left the store.
Constables Roy, Bouchard and Maceus attended the store where they were able to identify and arrest the male that same evening. The male has a criminal record, with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior.
Martin BRABANT (30yrs) of the Town of Hawkesbury was charged with the following:
Criminal Code of Canada.
Section 344(b) Robbery with intent
Criminal Code of Canada.
Section 733.1(1) Breach of probation order
