OPP Locate 18 Month Old That Wandered Into Corn Field

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – On Thursday August 15, 2013 at approximately 10:51am, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a report that an 18 month old female was missing from a rural residence on Wellington County Road 7, Centre Wellington Township. It was believed that she had wandered into a corn field on the property. All available officers attended the scene including the Wellington Street Crime Unit (SCU). The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the OPP Canine Unit were called to attend. After approximately 20 minutes, the missing toddler was located by officers. The little girl travelled approximately 300 metres away from the house. She was not injured and in good health. She was happy to be in her father’s arms.
