(North Kawartha Twp., ON) On Saturday August 17,at approximately 1:33 p.m. officers from Peterborough County OPP and Kawartha Lakes Fire Department were called to attend cottage on Stony Lake near Fire Route 40, in response to a personal water craft accident.
Upon arriving at the scene it was learned that an 18 year old male had been operating a Seadoo” on the lake when it exploded. As a result of the explosion the operator was thrown into the air and received serious injuries.
Witnesses at the scene rescued the man and took him to safety while the Ambulance and Fire were called.
The male is identified as Blake BEATY and 18 year old Mississauga resident.
Beaty was airlifted by air ambulance to St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto
