MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – HWY. 6 DORNOCH – HWY. 6 REOPENED

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Thursday, August 22, 2013 at approximately 1:55 P.M., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a two vehicle collision on Hwy. 6 just north of Dornoch in the Township of Chatsworth.

Hwy. 6 was temporarily closed between Sideroad 9B and Grey Rd. 25 in the Township of Chatsworth for emergency responders at the scene. The highway has been reopened.

A 2004 Toyota Echo was travelling north bound on Hwy. 6. The driver of the Toyota attempted to pass a vehicle and in doing so, collided with south bound 2003 Pontiac Vibe.

The driver of the Toyota, a 30 year old female from Kitchener, Ontario, was air lifted to a hospital in London with serious injuries. Three children in the vehicle, ages, 5, 8 and 11 were taken to the Grey Bruce Regional Health Center in Owen Sound where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

The driver of the Pontiac, a 39 year old male, and a 41 year old female passenger, both from Hamilton, Ontario, were taken to the Durham Hospital. They were treated for minor injuries and released.

Charges are pending.
