(Petawawa, Ontario) – On August 23, 2013 shortly after 5:30 am The Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Petawawa Blvd at Sharon St in the Town of Petawawa.
Preliminary police investigation indicates that a motorcycle travelling eastbound on Petawawa Blvd collided with a westbound pick-up truck. The driver of the motorcycle, 46 year old Jeffrey Cassista of Beachburg, Ontario was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the pick-up truck did not suffer any injuries.
Cst. John Riendeau is the investigating officer. OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are assisting with the investigation.
