(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON)- On Sunday August 25, 2013 at 9:24 a.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), North Middlesex Fire Department and Middlesex-London Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single vehicle collision on Elginfield Road at Nairn Road, North Middlesex. Police learned that a single vehicle left the roadway at the intersection and entered the ditch, causing the vehicle to catch fire. Two occupants were able to exit the vehicle with minor injuries.
The driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries sustained in the collision. At the time police confirmed that the driver had been drinking.
As a result of an investigation police have charged Szabolcs BALOGH, age 34 of London, ON with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs as per Section 253(1) (a) and Section 253 (1)(b) of the Criminal Code. The accused was released from police custody by way of an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in a London Court room on October 22, 2013 to speak to the charges.
