(EAST ZORRA – TAVISTOCK TWP, ON.) Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) continues their investigation of a two vehicle collision on Highway #59 at Oxford Road #34 just south of the village of Tavistock.
The collision occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28th.
O.P.P. had the area roads shut down for investigation until 6:00 p.m. yesterday evening.
A female was operating a Chrysler Neon northbound on Highway #59, when a male operating a Hyundai Genesis going southbound on Highway #59 crossed into the path of the Neon and the head on collision occurred.
The female driver, 24 years old from Shakespeare, was extricated with the assistance of Tavistock and Hickson Fire Services, and transported by air ambulance to London Health Sciences Center. The other driver, a 27 year old male from Woodstock, was transported by Perth County E.M.S, to Stratford General Hospital and was later released with minor injuries. The female remains in hospital at this time with critical injuries.
Investigation is ongoing and charges to be determined.
