(ESSA, ON) – On Wednesday August 28, 2013, at approximately 10:39PM, officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were following a motor vehicle along the 3oth Sideroad of Essa Township when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch.
The driver fled on foot and ran into a wooded area. A search was conducted by members of the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Canine Unit, however the driver appeared to elude police at that time.
OPP officers maintained a presence in the area and a short time later, a male fitting the description was arrested as he tried to enter a residence located in Angus.
Dean Christopher WATERMAN, 19-years of age from Angus, Ontario has been charged with the following offences:
Impaired Driving
Drive Over .80mgs
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Flight from Police
Breach of Probation
He was held in custody and yesterday appeared for a Bail Hearing at Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie.
