(THAMES CENTRE, ON) On Friday August 30, 2013 at 4:15 p.m. Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a downed pole and wires as a result of a single vehicle collision. Police have learned that a tractor trailer struck a pole on Catherine Street causing the wires to fall onto the roadway.
As a result of an investigation police have closed Catherine Street between Veterans Memorial Parkway and Westchester Bourne while emergency crew complete repairs.
Traffic is being re-routed and motorists are asked to be patient as police and hydro work to clear the scene.
The roadway is expected to remain closed until further notice.
