Thomas Towns – Drunk Driving, etc

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On August 30, 2013 at approximately 1:45 p.m. West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fail to remain collision involving a tractor trailer. Police located the tractor trailer and discovered the driver had been drinking in his vehicle.

Thomas Towns, 55 years of age of Quinte West, was charged with the following:

Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Exceed 80 Milligrams of Blood Alcohol Content while Operating a Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Drive Motor Vehicle While Liquor Readily Available, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act

Turn – Not in Safety, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound on September 26, 2013 to answer to the charges.

The vehicle is impounded for 45 days and the accused’s driver’s licence is suspended for 90 days.
