(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the driver being charged with two Highway Traffic Act related offences.
On September 2, 2013 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 35 near Ballyduff Road and subsequently stopped the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver was also suspended from driving.
As a result of the investigation Mona TANG-HIGGINS, 18 years of age, of Pickering, was charged with speeding, 129 km/h in an 80 km/h zone, and with driving while under suspension.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on November 12, 2013.
