(Elgin County) Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant on August 29th 2013 at a garage located on Ron McNeil Line in Springfield, ON.
The search warrant resulted in police seizing cannabis marihuana plants from an indoor grow operation along with grow equipment. The estimated street value of the controlled substance is approximately $283 000.
Police have arrested and charged one London Ontario man in connection with the operation.
Marc CHIASSON, age 32 of London ON is charged with;
Production of a Schedule II Drug (Marihuana) contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
Production of a Schedule II Drug (Marihuana) over 3kg for the Purposes of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA. Occupant Injuring Building contrary to section 441 of the Criminal Code.
CHIASSON is scheduled to appear in court on September 3, 2013.
